The happiest time of my life, was when I had my children. I have three kids; my first child is a girl she was born on January 1, 1990. I remember sitting over her father’s house, the New Year was just about to come in it was 11:58 pm, when all of a sudden, the pain hit me I couldn’t wait as soon as the ball fell and we all shouted “Happy New Year,” I ran to the bathroom and I saw the mucus cord, I knew at that moment it was time for me to call the paramedics. When I arrived at the hospital and I was placed into the birthing room, it seem as if she knew when to push just as I had taken off my clothes and placed my robe on, and hoped up on the bed my water broke; The doctors knew that they were possibly going to give me a C-Section, however they decided to give me an x-ray instead, They wanted to see if I would be able to deliver the right way; To no prevail, she didn’t want to come that way, she wanted to make a grand entry into the world, she wanted to come out fighting, kicking and shouting “Happy New Years,” to the world! She was so special to me I truly believe that God placed her in my arms on that day to bless me for being such a wonderful child to him; I was so happy and relieved, now that I’m not walking around carrying that heavy belly anymore, weighing me down.

Then I had my second child came, seven years later this time it was a boy; He was born on April 8, 1997, he was a special child as well he was born on Easter; I remember the day I was about to have him because me and my sister was shopping that day, we were just about to return home when she decided that she wanted something to eat, so we drove up to Kentucky fried chicken, she started ordering her food when all of a sudden I started getting nauseated, I knew something was wrong this wasn’t the ordinarily sickness I was getting pains I was sure that it was because I needed to eat something , but nope it was time , time to have the baby, by this time it is 9:30pm, still I didn’t go to the hospital I was sure it would pass, by 11:30 I was saying nope it’s time I need to call the ambulance. The ambulance come we get to the hospital, it seemed like hours getting there and days waiting for this baby to come to the world and finish driving me crazy, cause by the time I delivered believe me he was driving me crazy; Finally, my little bundle of joy (for now, LOL) was here and ready to make his name known all over the world he just didn’t know his mom was a traveling woman.

Finally, I had my last, but lovely daughter the following year after my son was born. I remember when she was born because the day before I had her I was sitting over my sister’s house and we were all sitting at the table eating crabs and shrimps, fish we were having a fish fry that day; later that day I started getting blotting I was sure I had to go to the bathroom, however that was not the truth, so I decided that I was going to make myself go to the bathroom so I drove to the store and purchased a enema, thinking that this would help, “yep” it did that same day, well the next day I was getting my oldest up to go to school and putting pony tails in her hair, but every time I would sit her down between my legs to put one pony tail in I  would have this pain I tried to ignore it but they would stop hurt like every two min, if I touched her head one would come, finally I called my sister and told her I was going  to the hospital meet me there to get the kids, I arrived at the hospital by 8:00am she was delivered by 10:00am I was so relieved and proud, I was proud that I have finally delivered and I did it all by myself except the for the doctors and nurses. Having my children made me the happiest parent and the happiest moment ever.

  1. How wonderful!! I am so impressed with your candid account of these birth moments; it shows true confidence and respect for the most significant (arguably, of course) time in a woman's life. Well done......I think you're actually enjoying this!
